You probably do not realize this, but the IyaTime website has no funding or support from the local government or tourism department of Miyoshi City.
We (the residents of the Iya Valley) created IyaTime several years ago because we wish for every foreign visitor to have the best information possible while planning your trip, and to have the best experience possible while you are here.
There is a lot of incorrect, incomplete or unhelpful info floating around the internet about the Iya Valley (including on Miyoshi City's "official" but less-than-helpful
tourism website>>
) and we wish to fix that.
But having no budget or support from our elected officials (despite asking repeatedly, even directly to the mayor) has been
extremely disappointing, and we may not be able to continue operating this website in the future unless that changes.
So we just ask you,
please write a brief email (even just one or two sentences, and in English is OK) to our local tourism department to tell them how the IyaTime website has helped plan your trip to the Iya Valley, and if you liked anything particular such as the maps, area guides, location info, hiking portal, or even just the bus schedules.
We truly wish you have a fantastic time in the Iya Valley!!
